[Sib] is the reason Mia went to graduate school. The concept draws inspiration from many games such as Final Fantasy, Zelda, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Dark Souls, Elder Scrolls, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, Infamous, and many more. The game itself is a third-person, action-adventure, role-playing game. The player’s agency and movement throughout the game heavily immerse her in a magical, verdant, and tropical environment through the points of view (POVs) of three main characters; each of whom go on differing geographical journeys to rid the world of a viral plague.
Throughout her graduate studies, Mia focused particularly on the subject and theories of narrative space, as well as character design. Interested in how virtual geographies affect and mold a narrative, as well as a world's characters and cultures, Mia has spent over three years tweaking and designing [Sib] based off her academic research and game analyses. Not only are the virtual spaces and their influences important, but the player navigation and movement throughout those spaces are also imperative to flow and event understanding. Mia is quite proud of how far this project has come, but there is always more to be done!
